The UC Boxing Club is a student run club sport at the University of Cincinnati and is open to all UC students. The team was started in 2011 by UC students who had previously competed on the Cincinnati High School Boxing Team. The team trains at Cincinnati Fitness & Boxing, located less than 2 miles from the University of Cincinnati main campus (see map below) and is coached by the CABC coaches.
The college boxing season runs primarily from October through March. During the season, select team members are able to compete in National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA) and United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association (USIBA) boxing shows and tournaments. The UC Boxing Club has had members compete in both of these organizations’ National Tournaments, including winning the USIBA National Championship. In the 2017-2018 season UC boxers traveled to compete bothlocally in Cincinnati, Columbus and Oxford and across the U.S. in New York, Seattle and California. Three members of the UC Boxing Team competed in the NCBA Midwest Region Tournament with freshmen Jacob Maslyk and Joe Carli qualifying to compete in the NCBA National Tournament at the West Point Military Academy in New York. Members of the Miami University, Ohio State University and Xavier University boxing teams occasionally train and spar with UC boxers as well.
For the 2017-2018 season, conditioning sessions will begin at Nippert Stadium in September and practices will be begin at Cincinnati Fitness & Boxing in October. Here is a link to the 2018-2019 Club Information Packet with much more detailed information and dates: UC Boxing Info Packet – 2018-2019
